This error is always observed if you have configured synchronization rules that rename or move a Google Apps object.

WORKAROUND
When configuring the update step, on the 'Configure rules for the update step' page of the Add Synchronization Step wizard, do not specify rules under 'Object Location Rule' and 'Object Name Generation Rules.'

When configuring the deprovisioning step, on the 'Configure deprovisioning rules' page, do not specify rules under 'Move target object' and 'Rename target object.'
