Foglight APM: An Adaptive Architecture for all Environments

Foglight's adaptive architecture and engineering is based on the realization that virtualization, SOA and redundant architectures have become the norm. Consequently, success in the Application Performance Monitoring (APM) market depends on having a flexible structure that addresses the challenges of managing complex, dynamic and interdependent IT systems. Among the key Foglight innovations is an essential design that uses a data meta-model to add context to normalized data. Quest refers to this as a topology model and treats it as the center-point around which Foglight organizes and correlates all data in the Foglight Management Server. This document outlines this architecture for the Foglight platform.
