Security Explorer is a graphical solution for real-time management of access controls and security on files and folders, SharePoint, SQL Servers, Exchange and workstations across the enterprise. This solution improves your productivity, increases the security of server resources, helps you meet compliance objectives and assists with server and domain migrations. By using a common, simplified user interface, administrators are guided through complex procedures to reduce error and improve consistency.

Security Explorer is developed and supported by ScriptLogic (a wholly owned subsidiary of Quest Software).

Simplified Security – Simplifies the management of NTFS file and folder security, file shares, printer access, SharePoint Server security, Exchange Server security, SQL Server security and registry security, ensuring that access to privileged information is properly restricted.
Services, Tasks & User/Group Management – Simplifies the management of the Services, Tasks and User/Group modules on named Windows servers.
Centralized Searching – Enables centralized searches for services and scheduled tasks based on custom criteria, and updates settings across multiple computers in a single operation. Easily change service account properties such as logon password – on multiple computers – with just a few clicks.
Workstation Management – Simplifies the management of the NTFS, Printer, Share, Registry, Services, Tasks and User/Group modules on Windows workstations.
Centralized Permissions for AD/Exchange – Centrally manages permissions found in both Exchange and Active Directory from one, easy-to-use interface, to ensure proper access controls are in place – including public folders, mailboxes, mailbox subfolders and more.
Inactive Account Management – Simplifies management of permissions assigned to disabled and deleted accounts.
SharePoint Accounts – Removes SharePoint accounts when the associated Active Directory account is deleted.

Important: The minimum system requirements listed are for the computer on which Security Explorer is installed. Security Explorer can be used to manage permissions on other computers that have Windows NT or Windows 2000 as an operating system.
